Melaar Feye

Melaar was alive hundreds of years ago, and was the first irra healer. Though he was taught to fight, like all irra, he felt most at home foraging for plants in their caverns. Since coming to Irrum Vath, they had been exposed to many unfamiliar ailments, and creatures whose venom could seal the fate of even the best irra poison tester. While there were some healers, they were mostly unequipped to deal with these new threats. When he was young, Melaar ventured deep into their caverns to forage. Though they had been there for over a generation, many caves had gone unexplored. Melaar, not being trained enough to defeat a monster, snuck into the caves with a torch and a short sword when nobody was looking. He had only been inside with other Irra, and was excited to explore. Unfortunately, he was bored when he didn't find anything. When he was going back, however, his torch went out. Looking around, he saw a faint light and decided to follow it. Instead of the irra's main cave, he found a small cavern, no bigger than an irra hut, filled with small, glowing mushrooms. Years later, Melaar had used these mushrooms to create different salves and potions that could cure any illness they had ever come across. Mixing these mushrooms, which he named miragar, with other mushrooms and healing herbs that they had used for years led him to change irra medicine completely. Years after his death, when they no longer had any of the medicine Melaar had made, some irra started learning how the miragar worked, and became the first official healers. Though his name is all but forgotten today, the irra might never have survived in the mountain without his contribution.
