Irrepertus Tellus

Irrepertus Tellus, or Tellus for short, is a land of magic and monsters. Originally the land was only inhabited by a race that became known as the Old Ones by those that came after. Very few appear to have inhabited the world as only a handful of structures made by them have been found and those that were found suggested only one or two lived in them at any one time. Over hundreds of thousands of years after the Old Ones disappeared, several intelligent races appeared with the same story each time. All races on the planet came from different worlds where they were the most intelligent race. A large city filled with the race, after an earthquake, suddenly finds itself in this world by cause of some magic force referred to as the Seed. With the cities damaged beyond hope by the earthquakes, the city would have to be abandoned which spreads out the race. These cities are known as Seed cities.   The dragons were the first to appear followed by the elves and many others. The humans were the most recent to appear in this magical world. Since the humans came from a world without magic that was relatively safe, they had seen magic as an evil that ripped them from their world and into a new more dangerous world. The first two hundred years after the arrival of the human Seed city were filled with chaotic wars started by religions, newly formed factions, and magic hunters. The humans were the first race with decent intelligence that also had the capacity to spread quickly. Now one thousand years after the human Seed city humans have become the most wide spread intelligent race with various cultures, most of which still reject magic publicly. Because of how wide spread their boarders are, most races have learned the human language for peaceful or hostile reasons.   Magic is an energy that flows through the world in all places. There are various elements of magic that can be gathered, combined, and altered for various effects. The most commonly found elements are light, darkness, earth, air, water, and life. Despite all elements of magic being very different from each other, they can all be converted into raw magical energy which is the most easy to manipulate and is often the starting point for spells. Many secret organizations have risen among the humans, with the goal of researching and using magic but for hundreds of years they were always wiped out by a cult, known as the Witch Hunters, that hated magic. While many kingdoms still contain branches of this cult, a powerful wizard had risen and fought the cult with his army of apprentices two hundred years ago. While the wizard and his army died, several kingdoms had seen that magic could be used and were not held back as strictly by the cult as it attempted to rebuild. In present day, several kingdoms have been freed from the cult and others now contain strong hidden organizations of magic casters. While many still cling to the anti magic propaganda spread by the Witch Hunters, many also now oppose it.
