Meda is a savannah like planet with violent weather conditions on its surface. The sands and razor storms of suspended abrasive material constantly shift the surface topography exposing old ruins and burying others often times over the same day cycle. Material clogs filters, destroys all but the most specially modified engines, and when outside exposed to the storms, a man can be flayed to the bone in less than a moment.
Those who live on this planet do so inside massive generation crawlers that cross the planet's surface like nomads. They live a life of constant scouting, scavenging, ruin diving, and wringing every drop of the planet's high-tech past out of the sands. It is rumored that under the deepest dunes, ruins of alien life forms predating even the Slyth house miracles never before seen in modern times- though their existence is nothing more than a rumor. The climate of Meda does not allow for long term excavation anywhere long enough to find out.
In April 2669 a controlled release of Shaper Technology contained within the captured brain of one of their capital ships was attempted on Meda. The latent Tetrogenetic abilities transformed the planet, ending the invasive windstorms and seeding the first of an engineered biosphere. The full effects of this will take years to fully understand but for now, thirty five million people will no longer need to shelter in run down sand crawlers.
