Velemoth

Velemoth (a.k.a. The great goat of Holdo)

Divine Domains

Earth

Physical Description

Body Features

As a goat turned titan, Velemoth is an enormous goat with two long horns and long, rough fur that show his great age. His head towering at a height of six meters, Velemoth is around ten times the size of normal adult goats, and has noticeably longer neck compared to what would be proportionately fitting for a goat that simply grew tenfold.

Special abilities

Over five long centuries of attunement in the stony mountains of Holdo, Velemoth has attained a deep connection with the structure and movement of the earth below him, making him able to "hear" with his bones everything that happens under and on the entire mountain range as if it were happening inside his own body. It is said that it was his help that allowed Holdo the explorer to map the paths in the northern mountains of Micleta and find the best route to establish a mountain pass that would later be named after her.   Although very few have seen him do so and many have doubts about it regardless of their utmost reverence to Velemoth, Velemoth is also said to be capable of "speaking" to the earth and asking it to move as he wishes. Although he is very unwilling to exercise his will over the mountain, disrupting the structure of the earth and possibly hurt many plants and underground animals by doing so, he is recorded to have moved the earth when he found it necessary.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Velemoth was a young titan living alone in the forests of then-unnamed mountains of north Micleta when Holdo the great pioneer established a mountain pass connecting Micleta to the neighboring nation of Zaartum. It is said that Velemoth aided Holdo in her adventures in the mountain and acknowledged the great pioneer's resourcefulness, offering to name the mountain and the mountain pass after her.   When a resting camp by a convenient spot along the Holdo Pass became large enough to be a permanent settlement, Velemoth agreed to enter a contract of godhood with the manager of the camp who proceeded to become the first lord of the village she named Brillam. Ever since, Velemoth has been the local god of Brillam for two hundred and fifty years. Although Velemoth mostly leaves the village be, he has maintained a good relationship with the villagers, offering valuable advices to the village council, helping the village choose the next lord, and sometimes protecting the village in times of crisis.

Nicknames & Petnames

Velemoth is one of the very few beings to whom Martel speaks with courtesy.   Some keen villagers note that Velemoth also addresses Martel with expressions such as "O Martel" that seem to indicate holding her in higher regard than most other villagers he considers as little beings and usually uses expressions like "little one". Martel also notices this and speculates that Velemoth, being a titan of the earth, finds her skills as a blacksmith to be worthy of recognition.
