Central Powers Organization in Iron Crusade | World Anvil

Central Powers

Central Powers are one of two main alliance between which the Great War started, and one of four main alliances that it is waged between now. They began as the so called Triple Alliance between German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire and Kingdom of Italy, a coalition of states that felt left behind by the states of the Entente, mostly landlocked (or, in case of Italy, mostly European-locked) and hoping to challenge the state of affairs.   After the war started, Italy betrayed the alliance and turned to the Entente. Despite this, Central Powers changed into Quadruple Alliance as Bulgaria and Ottoman Empire joined. Then, more changes happened... Now, Central Powers remain pretty much an only official name of the alliance.

Structure

Alliance rather than organization. Lacks centralized thaumaturgic organization like Entente and its Joint Bureau of Supernatural Warfare. Instead, basic of the techmaturgies used by the Central Powers are developed by Kaiser Wilhelm Thaumaturgie Institut. It is more or less centralized, but overwhelming majority of it is ran by German Empire and Austria-Hungary. The rest mostly receives new technologies from it (or, like Poland, has its own, separate thaumaturgic technologies and organizations).   States in bold fell and are no longer fighting.   MEMBERS OF CENTRAL POWERS
MAIN POWERS
German Empire - Lost most of its territory following the Ludendorff coup. However, the Hindenburg offensive and retaking of Berlin plus the number of prisoners taken and reconverted into normalcy made it still be one of the strongest member of Central Powers.   Austro-Hungarian Empire - Second of two empires of the Central Powers, that almost suffered total defeat during the Todesmarch. It defended the capital, but lost most of its core lands. It is held together only by the authority (supported by thaumaturgy) of the kaiser.   Kingdom of Poland - Case of accidentally elevated minor power. It was supposed to be pretty much a sattelite state of two empires, but after both of them suffered heavy defeats, it expanded (both in west and east) and now it started developing its own ambitions...   Kingdom of Bulgaria - Country that joined the war to turn back the clock and finally achieve the control over the Balkans - that it was denied during two Balkan Wars. It managed to achieve that... but now it is busy defending its gains from both Entente and Axis at the same time.   Ottoman Empire - Ailing empire on the verge of collapse. Sick man of the Europe. Held together only by thaumaturgy, and one that lost entire Arabian Peninsula to local insurgents (and now fights Soviet Russia, Entente and Arabian Insurgents at the same time. With heavy support from other Central Powers states).   SECONDARY POWERS
Grand Dukedom of Ruthenia - One of two de facto sattelite states subject to Kingdom of Poland, created on the lands it liberated from the Soviet Russia. Its future is uncertain.   Grand Dukedom of Belarus - One of two de facto sattelite states subject to Kingdom of Poland, created on the lands it liberated from the Soviet Russia. Its future is uncertain.   United Baltic Duchy - A sort of provisional military government of the Baltic area, liberated from the Soviet Russia by the Central Powers. Officially subjected to German Empire (and with attrocities of the Red causing a lot of sympathies to their liberators), but their fate is uncertain.   Kingdom of Finland - New addition to the Central Powers. Country that managed to defeat its own Reds and is now controlled by pro-German Whites. It is one more new monarchy ruled by regent until the end of the war. Joined the war against the Reds after success of Rozwadowski offensive, as its elites doesn't believe that co-existence with Soviet Russia is actually possible...   South African Republic - Shortlived Boer country in the southern part of Africa. Fell to british colonial forces early in the war. Currently an object of colonel Lettow-Vorbeck ressurection attempt.   Sultanate of Darfur - Shortlived Central Power in southern part of Egypt. Its anti-british insurgence was squashed early in war.
