Melodia Silvereyes

Melodia Silvereyes was a legendary Magus through most of the Sleeping Lands, known for her regular expeditions into the Wildlands and publishing accounts of her travels. About a century ago, she heard a story about the Underways (a series of mysterious and clearly artificial tunnels built deep in the earth under the Iron Hills), and immediately began planning an expedition to determine the nature of these tunnels. She and a few of her closest companions set out into an Underway found in the mines of Silverstone in 1638 AE. They have not been seen since, though some hope that they have survived all this time, cut off from returning to civilization by the Great War raging on the surface.

Physique

While most magi, particularly wizards like Melodia, tend to rely on their magical abilities in combat, she has trained hard to keep herself in peak physical form as well. She is stronger and faster than many warriors. Slender and muscular, she is generally described as being impressive rather than beautiful, and the collection of scars she has collected over her career do little to change that. Most prominent of these is vicious set of claw marks running down the left side of her face - a souvenir from a close encounter with an Axainadrax early in her adventuring career.

Signature Equipment

While Melodia is a big believer in proper preparation, she has several pieces of equipment that are considered all but synonymous with her adventures. Most famous among these is a light cloak festooned with patches, which can be pulled off to revert a stored device (most often potions, small items enchanted to hold the effects of a spell, or bulky tools), which according to her published adventures, holds the perfect item for nearly any occasion. She also wears an amulet that allows her to turn herself invisible, which she's used to get her friends out of a number of dire situations. Finally, she carries a gnarled oaken staff that substantially increases her magical prowess.
