Iron Hills Restoration Project Headquarters

The Iron Hills Restoration Project is the ongoing effort to resettle the Iron Hills and restore it to its former status as the industrial heartland of Kinilan. It is based in the ruins of the city of Rethis, centred around a relatively intact warehouse that has been converted into the headquarters.

Purpose / Function

The building was first built to hold imported food and wine, brought in from the more agricultural regions of Kinilan in order to support the local mining trade. It is positioned in the east side of the city, near the wall, with direct access to the trade canal linking Rethis to the capital, which was the main reason it was chosen for the reconstruction project.  It is one of the only remaining buildings with a direct connection to the canal that is still intact. The Iron Hills have become a dangerous place, and nobody wants to be caught carrying supplies from the canal barge to the camp if ghouls or worse show up.
Now it is used as the hub of the reconstruction project in the Iron Hills. Building crews and soldiers have their orders sent out from this building, and groups of adventurers can often find work on various excursions outside the city and into the dangerous wilds of the Iron Hills.

Alterations

As a warehouse, the headquarters had a large, open floor plan, and only a small records office set aside in one corner, and a winch apparatus used for lifting cargo. In converting the building to a headquarters, several rooms had to be added: a planning room and a number of offices have been added for the Governor Caelynn Tenithra and the many clerks needed to organize the rebuilding efforts. A person-sized door to grant easier access to those rooms has also been added. The remainder of the headquarters is still used for its original purpose, holding the food reserves for the project.
