Jian Ronson (jee-uhn ron-sn)

Jian is a story-teller of questionable competency.   Though capable of telling a decent story Jian's most notable story was a continuation of an old classic tale "Wizard from beyond the Stars". During his retelling Jian was able to ignore every aspect of what was integral to the original tales culminating in the mutilation of the original main characters and abandonment of previously created plot threads.    Due to this horrendous addition to the classic story Jian was shunned by many a tavern owner across Oshar    The common folk pleaded for his termination from the Bard's Guild, but the corrupt inner circle of writers and storytellers that Jian had become associated with wouldn't do so, instead praising him for his bold take on the tale.

I read the comment by Kefkejaco and now I feel bad I didn't notice who the article was about moments earlier. Nicely done! It was great.

I like the parody humor, especially how applicable the first line was once i saw Kefke's comment and looked up who it was talking about. Plus, what world doesn't have an eminently punch-able bard show up at one point or another?

Feel free to stop by some of my WorldEmber articles if you want. My favorites are The Book of the Unquiet Dead, Outpost of the Moons, and The Emerald Hills. Feedback is always appreciated.

Well played Mr jamBoink! Very well played!

Thank you very much! I'm afraid there are bards defiling classic tales across many worlds, it is a shame, but not everyone is as good as they think they are :D

I like this little gold nugget about the completely different take on the classic and how it resulted in strong reactions in the eyes of the public. It would be wonderful to see the original story (or parts of it ) and see how he changed them. They seem potentially juicy stuff for the plot in which the character plays a role.   As I think about it, making a move like that, especially with a ruling body in the form of a Guild would either mean he was very bold or... What in all heaven's made him refashion a classic? Is there some backstory to it, like a truth or dare with his friend?
