The Vice President

In the intergalactic political landscape, humans and the Milky Way galaxy are considered far subpar to the rest of the species. Initially, the Tolana did not want participation from Earth, viewing Earthlings as a source of labor and soldier supply. Earth humans are invited to participate as a member of the Alliance, however, due to the desire from the Solis to have more voices, thus more contributions, represented on the new alliance. The Solis are also attempted to form a relationship with the Martians, seeing kindred beliefs, but also red flags they would like to help rein in. If Earth humans and Martian humans are on the Alliance, the Solis can both be inclusive and keep an eye on their new allies.     When Rainey first joins the alliance, the crew, her leader, and the Alliance leaders are quite skeptical of her. She’s a tough and skilled fighter, a highly trained and tested SEAL, but unpredictable, putting the life of the vice president at risk to rescue a girl. But the Vice President is the one who selected her. He saw something in her, a fighter spirit that was much needed on Earth, that people could rally around, that could build excitement and energy, and most importantly, hope. If she could succeed, even a little bit, he could use that. And as she starts to succeed, he begins weaving a plan, a campaign, to pull not just the Untied States, but Earth out from under ruin.   The Vice President was also underestimated on the Alliance. The President, spending most of his time in a bunker with advisors, has become paranoid and mistrustful of everyone, particularly the Vice President, wanting him far away from Earth. The Vice President, although bitter at first, quickly saw an opportunity to make a spot for Earth on the intergalactic stage, to revitalize faith and hope in humanity, and also keep his political career alive.
