General Yuki's Last Stand

General Yuki, a renowned Rhonian war hero, is a celebrated figure in Rhonian culture. In 2038, when the last Civil War with the Tolana began, he the led forces, rallying the Rhonian troops to several victories, despite being outnumbered and behind in technology.     The Rhonians have a mode of battle called Mania, where they channel anger to go on a rampage, receiving a boost of energy and strength that makes them less susceptible to pain and fatigue. Rhonians store up this energy by eating the flesh of the Kugar, a large reptilian creature that is difficult to kill due to its thick flesh. While this old style of battle had been regarded as barbaric and suppressed by the Tolana, General Yuki personally and solely killed a Kugar and shared its flesh with this troops. The boost helped them be victorious in battle.   The Tolana, seeing no choice, unleashed nuclear weapons on major Rhonian cities and settlements, even harming some of their own Tolana people in the process. The decision was not popular even among the Tolana, but the Grand Eminence claimed he had the support of the ancestral plane, which the debate chamber confirmed.   Once the Rhonian negotiated peace and were given their own planet, General Yuki and his last stand became a source of pride and celebration of Rhonian ideals and values. Every year, on the anniversary of his last battle, towns re-enact the hunt, instead slaughtering different predatory creatures on the new planet. All of the settlements share the flesh of the animal, recounting stories of battle and promises of new. Many of the young members then lead hunting expeditions, empowered by the animal flesh. Since New Jakura is full of dangerous species, many hope to find one that will enact the same Mania the Kugar did. Kugars are now protected species on Tolana planets.
