The Adventurer's Travel Guide
A Guided Tour of the Known World, by Abelard Sattar
Ah, traveller, welcome! I see that you (like many others) have made the excellent decision to purchase my book. In these pages you will find worlds beyond your imagination, sights you wouldn't believe truly exist. Well I can guarantee you, they do- I've seen them myself. Prepare to embark on a journey that will change the course of your life!
The Known WorldFrom the bellowing peaks of the Thunder Chain mountains to the deep waters of the Azure Sea, our world is wide filled with beautiful sights and fascinating mysteries. Danger lurks in the shadows and behind bushes, but experience will teach you how to best avoid it.
With enough patience (and a fair share of luck), you will find yourself able to explore ancient ruins while nimbly dodging whatever traps lay hidden, or braving the raging chaos of the wild without a sweat.
Home, sweet home. Its name taste like honey, a melody that fills my heart. Hills and fields that stretch beyond the horizon, sunsets that paints the sky a thousand colours as it descends in the blue waters of the sea. Yes, I am quite lucky to call Danatelia my home.
For all its many wonders, I'd have to say Danatelian architecture is among the most marvelous. One has not really seen true beauty until they have gazed at the golden walls of the Sundrop Room.
The food is quite remarkable too- one simply must stop by their renown bazaars to try out delicacies from all over the world.
Principality of BajouSet east off the coast of the Danatelian Lands, the Principality has long remained secular, leading rise to many superstitions regarding what lies on that forever misty island. The cold attitude of Baja's does not help dismiss that austere reputation. But they are renown for their wealth, and as such almost anyone is willing to put up with their dismissive attitude to get their share of the pie.
My ancestors have allowed me to cross the mountains safely more times than I've deserved. Just making it through one pass is hard enough- try making it through five times! However, this does not make the Thunder Chains bare of life. Great Dwarven Cities are nestled atop white summits , whilst druidic circles and other small groups roam the valleys below.
Living in the Thunder Chains is no easy task, and certainly builds character. Just like the mountains they come from, denizens of the Chains are strong at heart and hard to break. Though what lies beyond the mountains, even they do not know.
Nothern WildsIn Danatelia, stories are often told of the Free Nations of the nothern plains: nomadic groups who travel free as the wind, following the tides of life without burdens. I myself have travelled for some time with the Amathafa, and must say I recognise the appeal of such a lifestyle. Sleeping under an open sky, the sound of crickets filling the fresh evening air. Yes, it is quite a thing then to live the life of the Wilds.
In the Echo Wood, things are rarely what they seem. Every new step could be your last.
Many strange stories are told about these woods, from magical creatures to dangerous and trickster beings. Things are rarely what they seem, and all who entered them came out.. different.
The two realms of the dead in the Saohri faith. Ayshabiu, the paradisiac island, welcomes the souls of those good in life, whilst Almayot traps those who have sinned in eternal torment.
Sea of Gods
A calm, ever expanding, peaceful sea. That is the realm of the Gods. Each divinity has their own island, a personal domain where they are free to live their life.
Tongues of Fire
The heart of volcanoes, where the fire never ceases to burn.
An eternal ocean of infinite darkness. Some say this is what the world was like before the gods shaped it according to their designs.
Oppressing tunnels branch off in a complex networks of caves and corridors. The air feels heavy, and all is still.
There is no land to walk on in the realm of air, only the never ending fall across an endless sky.
Beyond the Stars
An abysmal realm I have only heard described in books, where stars go to die and eldritch creatures are born.
Where to Go Next
The Danatelians Lands is the strongest nation of the Arda Almyed.
