Deen

The people of Inqaa worship their great saviour, Adira, the Founder. She is seen as a great hero, and a sort of prophet, because she saw what was going to happen before it did (The Plague, ya know?) and protected al-Nahr and saved them all from the world outside. There are monuments erected in her image, and her descendants are seen as godlike royalty. The Inqaan people pray to these idols in the Prayer House's and ask them for protection, and celebrate their lives as national holidays. Prayer doesn't have specific movements, or things to say. It's more a state of thoughtfulness, appreciation, thanks. A way to speak to Adira, to ask forgiveness, to seek guidance. The people also look to Saleh, al Malik, al Eali as the face of religion, the face of God, pretty much. Saleh kinda milked it after al-Ilaj was created. Changed the story a little bit. Made Adira into a Prophet, so his malikdom is uncontested. It is a democracy, though, so nothing happens if you don't actually worship fully. There are sins - adultery, murder, all that stuff - but they're not policed. People are shamed, though, if they sin publicly. Some people care. Some don't. Every Friday, there are congregational prayers, where there are sermons.
