The Eye of Makon

What is completely unknown to anyone is that the Eye is the source of all Beholders. It is actually a living thing, albiet mindless, and occasionally spawns beings of madness and anger. These beings do not know anything about their origin, only that they hate the world as it is and need to make it perfect. Every one has a different idea of what perfect is, because the Eye itself has no mind and no memory of the world before the Gods' War.
Makon was the first Titan slain in the Gods' War. According to legend, all of his body was consumed except for his left eye. This eye is rumored to be located underneath an ancient temple on an island off of the southeastern continent. Any body part of a titan is extremely powerful, and some say that the eye was imbued with some special power due to it being the last part of the first slain Titan.

Summary

Myths about the Eye of Makon abound. If it exists, it would be an item of great power. The bodies of gods and titans do not decompose, so it would be in perfect condition. How one might use it varies depending on the teller. Some believe it grants abilities akin to those of Makon, who was known for his kinship with smithing. Others think they could siphon its power to become a demigod themselves. Over the centuries many have sought for it, but none have actually managed to find it.
