Order of the Eternal Sun

Sometimes, I don't understand how the Airborne family still calls the Elves friend. They are trouble-makers, the descendants of Fiendish spawn. Everywhere they go, trouble follows. It's a threat to our land. Magic uncontrollable flows in their veins. Dragons as well, they are far too dangerous. They grant power to their Riders, unnatural power. We must protect the last of the family, for the Prince is lost. The Princess, her power is young, weak. It can be crushed out of her and she can be freed of that control. The ice must not pierce her heart. She can be made one of us, she would be a great knight.
  • Elder Bohdan Dubicki
  • Culture

A deep hate for all undead and Fiendish forces, though a rare exception will be made if the undead is a Necromancer or Relevant who has an end-goal that alines with theirs. The moment that goal is reached, they will kill said undead. Mistrust of magic, especially dark magic and Necromancy. They feel it's a corrupting force.

    Public Agenda

Often, they attempt to work their way into the courts of royals and nobles as knights in order to 'warn against' the Mages of the court or in their territory. Some listen, some humor and others argue to the point of throwing them out.

    Cosmological Views

When Indarie was created, there was no magic amongst humans and what power the other races possessed was minimal, non-threatening and not dangerous. Then those magics began to grow, as did the presence of the Fiends. Men were unaffected at first. Then the Yoruian's developed magic and the Werewolves came into being. Not long after the Illarian's developed magics of their own.   Our ancestors founded our Order when the Fiends and their followers became more and more prominent. We drove them back to the hell they came from, but we were not alone. The magic users fought as well, for they felt threatened as well. Despite how they had gotten their power, they knew the Fiends as the enemy. We just wish they'd stopped practicing, found ways to rid themselves of such horrific powers.   Our home is in a sheltered region not far from the kingdom of Illary. As such, we have dealt with the six regional lords and ladies often, though the region where the capital is housed is led by the King or Queen. There is little we can actually do for Illary, they are too far gone. Could we help any of them? Only if weak with magic or if they have none, then maybe, maybe we could help them.

    Tenets of Faith

    • Hunt those of Fiendish origin
    • Destroy all signs of Fiendish touch
    • Fight against Fiends and their forces of evil
    • Be wary of Casters for their desire of knowledge and understanding of their power is a corrupting force
    • Magic is a Fiends way of gathering followers, reject it

    Ethics

Despite our hatred of magic and non-humans, there is one thing that the majority of us agree on; a child is a child, an innocent. They need to be protected, even if that child has parents who have magic or are not human.

    Priesthood

Elders- usually above sixty, they are the retired knights and the senior priests   Priests- they have solely focused on the needs of the faithful, ministering to them   Analyst- the medics and scientists of the Order. They conduct studies on magic. They also handle the information and records of the Order. You need something, they'll find it.   Knights- the warriors of the faith.

    Political Influence & Intrigue

An Outsiders Perspective   There is a lot of grinding with major powers in the region. Even the Coruscaren's, who are on the opposite side of an ocean, find them a bit overzealous and they aren't fond of magic either. They attempt to push the Illarian's their direction but with the Royal family having Casters it doesn't go very well. Even still, one member of the Order has made their way close to them, Sir Ryszard Lewkier serves them as a knight assigned to protect the Royal children. Then there's friction between them and him. How well this will go is completely uncertain.
