Fiendfire

The power of this blade is unmatched in Illary. It has been the blade of the Airborne family, our Royal line, for thousands of years and it will continue to be for thousands more. It is a symbol of our kingdoms' resilience, just at the Leviathan is a symbol of our kingdoms' strength.
Despite the vague and uncertain forging history, this blade has been wielded with great skill by the Airbone's since it's construction. A notable wielder is Queen Eris Airborne, who had used the weapon for over five hundred years and led her forces to many victories over the years. Using it's fire as an amplifier for her own, she was able to carve fiery paths through enemy forces. Fiendfire is infamous amongst our enemies for that ability, Queen Eris ensured it would be remembered well in current memory.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This weapon channels pyromancy and, due to it's creation with Fiend fangs, can deflect Fiendish fire easily and can protect against other Fiendish magic decently, depending on the strength of the magic.
The thing is, it is a willpower weapon. The strength, desire and resolve of its' wielder affects the strength of the flame that the blade produces. At it's most powerful, it produces a flame as hot as the fire from a Frozen Flame that can melt flesh from bone on contact.

Raw materials & Components

The blade appears to have been made with Dragon Steel, which baffles historians for there are no documented cases of any Drakie-kin interacting on such good terms with an Illarian until around the five hundredth and seventh age, sometime around the forty-eight year and it is clear that Fiendfire was forged at least two hundred ages prior.
