Upon the edge of the Nephilim Sector of the Ultima Segmentum, a sub-sector, a mere footnote in Imperial history, struggles for survival.
Once thought to be another victim of the Archtraitor’s betrayal, it was rediscovered in the 38th Millenium by the marines of the Emperor’s Embers chapter, who then swore to defend it. Since then, it has been under constant threat, from those who wish to subvert or destroy the Praeteritus and the Emperor’s works. Only the tenancity and will of humanity allows the sub-sector to stand, but such isn’t enough in the Grimdarkness of the 41st Millenium and beyond.
Set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer: 40,000 universe, the Praeteritus is a diverse collection of worlds, representing cultures such as the Polish, Italians, and Irish, among others, and well as cultures unique to it. It was created to provide background to my custom Space Marines, it has since evolved into something greater than a single chapter, a microcosm of the Imperium of Man, as well as its own unique story.
The setting is mostly my own musings and thoughts, but it is capable of being slotted into any WH40K RPG system, as I intend to run a game of Dark Heresy 2nd Edition within it. I am not a writer, so I don’t expect this will be Phillip K Dick quality, but I will do my best to make the scenarios and adventures in my head entertaining.
