Immortality Sucks

This world is similar to our earth, except that the population is immortal. There are some things that changed, like infrastructure and politics mostly.   The world is more nature-oriented with fewer vehicles. It has high rises, holograms and various improvements on technology. Hologram commercials is a thing. Flying cars are not a thing. Artificial intelligence is a thing. A self-driving car is a thing. People are more nature lovers.   The population is immortal until they find their significant others. A small percentage of people are mortals because they found their soulmates; a larger percentage of people are still immortal. Only people who have soulmates can work as higher positioned government officials. Immortals are stuck at the age of 18 until they find their soulmates, so they will work in lower ranking positions such as director, administrative and such but cannot be ministers or presidents, etc.
