Palis
Built on the ruins of an ancient Giant city, Palis is the capital and surest stronghold of Palisana. Originally, the location served as a temporary shelter for the trappers that made up the first of Palisana's citizens. As the burgeoning alliance grew into a full-fledged kingdom, Arvin Keep was built by Arvin I, the first king of Palisana. Though its dour granite construction and constant wintry mountain air are often derided by citizens as depressing, there is no doubt that Palis is the most secure location in the entire kingdom.
Unusually for many cities in human lands (even capitals), official embassies of both dwarven and gnomish lands exist within the walls of the city, due to its proximity to the Shield Mountains.
