Sometimes called by their old name, the Dark Ones, the tieflings struggle to get rid of the taint of their creator Magdu, the evil god of War and Death. A lot of tieflings still call the Black Isle their home, but when the portal in Mag Mell was opened many of them, fed up with the prejudice against their race, left for Ianna. Nowadays they can be found across both worlds.
Play a tiefling if you want…

  • to be a member of a race that favors the magus, rogue, summoner and witch classes.

Appearance: A Tiefling's appearance testifies to her infernal bloodline. They have large horns, thick, nonprehensile tails 4 to 5 feet long, sharply pointed teeth and eyes that are solid orbs of black, red, white, silver or gold. Their skin covers the whole human range of colors and also extends to reds; from a ruddy tan to brick red. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is as likely to be dark blue, red, or purple as the more common human colors like black and brown.  

Tiefling Racial Traits*

+2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence and -2 Charisma: Tieflings are are quick in body and mind but are inherently strange and unnerving.
Native Outsider: Tieflings are outsiders with the native subtype.
Medium: Tieflings are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Normal Speed: Tieflings have a base speed of 30 feet.
Darkvision: Tieflings can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
Skilled: Tieflings gain a +2 racial bonus on Bluff and Stealth skill checks.
Spell-like Ability: Tieflings can use darkness once per day as a spell-like ability. The caster level for this ability equals the tiefling's class level.
Fiendish Resistance: Tieflings have cold resistance 5, electricity resistance 5 and fire resistance 5.
Fiendish Sorcery: Tiefling sorcerers with the Abyssal or Infernal bloodlines treat their Charisma score as 2 points higher for all sorcerer class abilities.
Languages: Tieflings begin play speaking Common and either Abyssal or Infernal. Tieflings with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Abyssal, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Infernal and Orc.
