Zim Character in Illios | World Anvil

Zim

Zim, the Goddess of Luck, is revered by those who seek good fortune and success in their endeavors. She is often depicted as a whimsical, mischievous figure who uses her powers to bestow blessings upon the deserving and curses upon the undeserving. Her followers believe that Zim's favor can bring unexpected windfalls, lucky breaks, and success in games of chance, while her disfavor can lead to setbacks, bad luck, and failure. As such, they often pray to her before embarking on important endeavors or gambling ventures, and leave offerings to her in the hopes of winning her favor.   Zim is said to be unpredictable in her actions, and her followers must be careful not to anger her, as her curses can be harsh and long-lasting. However, it is believed that even those who suffer under her curses can turn her favor back to their side by performing acts of generosity, good will, and selflessness.   In art and literature, Zim is often depicted as a youthful, free-spirited woman with a mischievous grin, who carries a set of dice or a deck of cards as symbols of her power over luck. Temples dedicated to her worship are often located in places of leisure and recreation, such as casinos, taverns, and festival grounds.   Worshippers of Zim include gamblers, adventurers, merchants, and anyone else seeking good fortune in their endeavors.   some of the more zealous followers of the other Great Divines frown on follower's of Zim, and see her as a capricious and dangerous influence that encourages recklessness and tempts fate.
