Jalka

The capitol of the Lukanian Empire situated on the Western coast of Lumsk the city is surrounded by a large stone wall that goes out and into the Asha Ocean. Central to the city is the remnants of a large over turned galleon, where wood has rotted away stone and steel have replaced it to form a patchwork structure. Underneath and inside of the ship, which is the size of a laid down skyscraper, are the governmental offices known as the Atrial Command (named after the ship). The offices are where all military strategy is decided by the militaristic governing body, they also feature troop garrisons for the elite guard. To the West of the Command are two large rails, between which is barren land, these are designed to launch the Atrial, which can be sealed until its self-righting mechanism kicks in, in case of dire emergency allowing Command to resume their roles should the city fall under intense siege. The city surrounding the Atrial has immense prosperity, the Asha Ocean provides plentiful fish stocks and the sprawling farms to the East that go beyond the walls provide ample produce making the city a hub of activity. Such activity brings culture with amphitheatres being established within forest patches to put on plays and performances, all of which were screened by the military and used propaganda in some aspect, and media outlets report on the goings on of other cities. There is a strong military presence in Jalka, and most of the Lukanian cities for that matter, and the majority of the public feel patriotic and protected by such presence. There once was a darker side however as those who once opposed the military were often “murdered” by others who opposed the military, thus it criminalised opposition and eliminated it. Much of the streets feature treed avenues with the arterial roads bordered by dense forests symbolising the Lukanian connection with the forests and providing some free food sources for its people. The surrounding wall is not circular nor is the city either side as the Lukanians do not characteristically build in circle formation, opting instead to build towards required resources.
