The Ecnead Coast

Paradise can come in several forms. Many call this dangerous place home. Much of the population has become used to the massive storms that roll through, opting to enjoy their slice of paradise while they can. As the popular saying goes - "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes."

Geography

A long coastal region with a warm climate. Much of the area is plains that are spotted with small to medium forests. The beaches are primarily white sand and the water is some of the clearest on the continent. The terrain is quite flat overall with some hills dotting the coast. Most days are warm but the summer makes the weather wild and unpredictable. For all of the natural beauty the beaches bring, they come at the cost of deadly storms. Rain is not uncommon, as it can go a couple weeks without a drop, however extremely large storms can kick up in a very small amount of time. Hurricanes smash the area in the late summer causing many a ship to go down off the coast or into the rocky parts of the shore.

Fauna & Flora

Tropical and Sub-Tropical plants are very common and fill the shoreline. Colorful coral are abundant in the near reefs. Many different types of fruit are grown here, whether native or not, because things can be grown almost year round. Animals stray from the big cities, but it is not uncommon to see everything from a street mutt to giant owls escaped from traders or hunters. The natural ecosystem seems to work out, but it is definitely not what it was several hundred years ago.

Natural Resources

Fruits and vegetables are the primary exports of the region, however since trade is so lucrative, anything can be found in the area if looked for. Slavers, poachers, and assassins are all available to the right people. For the right price.

History

Long has this been a popular place for people to settle. The winters are mild so many groups prefer this area. During the Old Wars, this swath of land seemed to go largely untouched by battle, leaving it to be a perfect place for new settlements to be built.

Tourism

Sea trading and the Beaches are the main draw of the area. Large port cities are hubs for all sorts of goods, bringing popularity and money into the area. Cities here tend to be some of the most well kept on the continent and are a traveler's dream. Inns, shops, forges, libraries, and much more line the busy streets. If it can be bought or sold, you can find it here. In addition, no matter where in the province, it is said that you can always hear the crashing of the ocean.
