Iledrias
7th November 347
Mabrea, Iosta, Astos, Esken, and the Zascan Union; a century after the war that threatened to destroy them, and three centuries after the war that destroyed their precursors, the Five Lands of Iledrias have reached an awkward peace. Economies grow, technology develops, people get on with their lives.
But all is not as it seems. Politicians and rulers pay lip service to new treaties while upholding old status quos; old beasts, awaken by the quest for technological enlightenment, stir in the shadows; and forgotten histories linger on, poised to bite. When the King and Queen of Mabrea are assassinated, events are set in motion that force each country to confront its history — and its present. Once more, the fragile peace of Iledrias threatens to crumble.
Author's Note: When I first started using WorldAnvil, it was in the early stages of developing a plot for a novel. As such, many of the articles on here were related to the plot only, and sometimes missed out details that I wasn't going to reveal in the novel until later on. I'm working my way through these, and filling things in, but some articles are still a bit messy/disjointed.
In addition, a central theme of the novel(s) is history and knowledge, and a key plot point is that the people of the Fivelands don't know their history, and don't even know that their continent was originally named Iledrias. There are many differences between Iledrias prior to the Sereskan War, and the Fivelands of the Reconstruction Era, and dealing with this all in one world is proving complicated. As such, at some point (in the near future, I hope) I will be splitting Iledrias into two worlds: The Fivelands, and Iledrias. For now, though, my priority is expanding on the Fivelands.
