Iiosia

Iiosia (eye-oh-see-ah) is an Era in history which very name means 'Strife'.

This period, which lasted for over two thousand years, saw the rise and fall of nations, the inception and decline of various races, and the fluctuation of powerful magical energies.   Iiosia is set upon a land cracked and tainted by a cataclysmic event known as The Sundering, which culminated in a powerful blast of Black Magic that shook the world. The Sundering brought about the end of the grand empires which once held dominion over the world, and from the aftermath emerged a myriad of strange and often vile creatures.   From the industrious Grellkin, forging great feats of metal their volcanic island home, to the skittish Gilth, who worship a strange magical rock which grants them vision and powers. Lest us not forget the cruel and powerful skeletal race of the Ghreal, the illusive Atia, or the sun-shunning Tar-tchii.   It's a world in which even the most powerful nation of Humankind - Rune - can be brought to its knees from assailants both without and within. A world with demonic powers clawing at the seems. A world within which nothing is certain, and survival is never taken for granted.   The world is a setting for both stories and pen and paper adventures. It's spawned a role-play system "Iiosia RPG", as well as several novella and a sub-setting which occurs after Iiosia. I thank you for taking a look at my world, and hope you enjoy your stay.
