They used to be Aarakocra, cursed forever to never obtain flight with their own wings by Porphyrion, the King of the Gigantes and the Bane of Zeus during the Gigantomarchy in the Bronze Age.
As part of their curse their voice had been taken, but after the war had ended some demigods and mages were ordered by Zeus to try and cure them. Their voice had been returned after years of research, but the curse to their access to flight had struck too deeply. As such they adopted a new name for this new form they had to adapt to.
No demigods have been born from Kenku.
