Witch Covens

History

It is unknown when the first covens formed, many places have their own tales, some have been lost to the ages. Covens form from members in which find a strange comfort among the dead. Traditionally, a witch coven would be the ones to deal with dead of someone within the community. They are deeply respected for the role they played in bringing family's comfort. 
The building of empires is what started the downfall of the covens. The new Morticians' College was starting to take their place as caretakers of the dead. Covens are still highly regarded in distant lands where the reach of empires are weakest.

Participants

Covens are the name given to a chosen family of Witches. They are usually headed by a Mother (title used for both genders) that teaches and guides the coven. It is not uncommon for orphans to find their way into a witches coven and become a witch themselves. The Covens love all as Thanatos the Mother does, even the downtrodden and forgotten.
