Physical & Chemical Properties

Resists and nullifies the effects of magic. Impairs the ability of users to cast or use magic or spell-like abilities as long as they are in contact with the metal. Any spell or spell like ability that is affecting the creature at the time of contact is instantly ended. The potency of the magic that it is capable of suppressing or removing is based on the metal's purity.
Magebane has unexpected results from interacting with Divine magics. It does not seem to halt divine magic but it does limit its effects.

Itherion: Currently only found in in the Sundering Mountains in a mine near the city of Rivertan.

History & Usage

Discovery

It was discovered first in Rivertan just before The Dragon War.

Everyday use

The most common use is that in prisons. It is used as shackles for prisoners with magical abilities. It is also used to forge weapons and armor for the paladin's of Scuno, God of Order and Thunder. As a blade it is capable of cutting through magical effects

Refinement

The ore must be smelted using mundane means. Pure Magebane cannot be infused with any form of magic, however alloys can be with immense amount of additional power just for simple enchantments.

Hazards

If consumed for long enough it can render an individual incapable of using magic or benefiting from magical effects.
