The Wandering Dragon

"Welcome t' the Wanderin' Dragon, center of town 'n just where y' want ta be in an evenin'. Y' make yerself right at home, jus' pick a spot to be!"   The tavern is warm, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. Opposite the door is a wide oaken bar. Its polished surface already holds mugs and tankards for the dwarves chattering away on stools, scattered along the length of the bar. These are the farmers, the fishermen, the miners and the hunters, all come together to spend the night in the welcoming hubbub. Ask any of these dwarves for a drink recommendation and they'll sing the praises of the Wandering Dragon's own honey ale.   Around the corner from where you enter sits a wide stone fireplace, circled by log stumps. Square tables barely higher than the stumps are the home to endless games and gambles. A beautiful hand-carved chess set sits out on one, left in the middle of a game. This is where the old folk and the young gather, the old to tell tales and the young to listen. One elderly dwarf makes his way to a stump and settles down, back to the fire, to contemplate the chessboard. He sips a flagon of cherry mead and moves a bishop several spaces closer to the opposing king.   Set around the rest of the room are tables of various shapes and sizes, each set with four chairs. Some are already occupied, satyrs and dwarves, men and women, gossiping and drinking side by side. You get the feeling that if you sat down with them, you'd lose track entirely of the time in a blur of conversation. A few grin at you and indicate a spare chair invitingly. Well, maybe a quick drink wouldn't hurt...

Tavernfolk

The bartender, Ebnus Kindfinder, prides himself on his well-crafted drinks. He grows as much of the ingredients needed as possible, such as cherries for mead. He is also an avid beekeeper and raises the honey for the tavern's famous honey ale. He keeps his opinions close to his chest but tells great stories, especially later into the night. He is happy to greet a traveler and give them any aid they might need.   Folks who gather around the chessboard tend to be on the older side. These folks might include Kramren and Magadin, elder dwarves of the town. They will happily regale anyone and everyone with tales, such as the time Kramren met Eba Khiet or the years Magadin fought in the Great War.
The Wandering Dragon is a tavern in the town of Ravenne. Built of whitewashed wattle and daub, the tavern contains a large central fireplace, a bar, and tables, making it the center of Ravenne's culture. The second floor, accessible via a steep staircase, contains a second, smaller bar and two snugs, for anyone looking for a private drink, as well as more tables.

Good start, as Shadow Malachi said. Actually an exceptional opening. But it needs to be expanded.   Where did the name come from? Its a dwarf tavern, is it underground or above ground, Is the city that its in a bit of both? What makes the Honey Ale so good, do they have their own apiary where they get the honey?
