Bookends

Bookends always smells the same – like old books and honey. High shelves fill the building, each one fitted with a sliding library ladder and crammed full of books. As you look around, you see the shop owner on a ladder, holding on with one hand and reading with the other.
The shelves loop around, almost like a maze. As you step in between rows, a feeling of comfortable isolation settles over you, and you get the sense that this is a place the passage of time does not reach. Leather covers shiver under your trailing fingers, and pages rustle as you pull a book from the shelf. A conveniently placed cushion becomes your roost for the foreseeable future as you dive into a new world.

Shopkeeper

Dalrig Penzance is the dwarf who owns Bookends. A quiet and bookish fellow, he fits right in to the cozy, well-lit store that is his second home. Penzance has spent his life collecting and reading books from all over Kiria, and occasionally leaves Bookends to journey in search of new or rare tomes.
