Outlaw Profession in Iaforis | World Anvil

Outlaw

Outlaw is a catchall term used by lords and their law keepers to describe those who live outside the law. Depending on the specifics of their methods and targets, they can also be referred to as bandits, raiders, or pirates.

Geography

Dausus

Foxdale County

Banditry in the county has increased in recent years. Goblin raids originating from Avolenth's Spine have driven people from their towns and reduced the effectiveness of patrols. The High Council of Foxdale has employed the Fist of Tempus in order to deal with both the goblins and raids, but their forces are stretched thin.

Southern Dausus

Pirates operating out of Fairise Port had caused econimic instability for decades. In 336 OA, the Amethyst Trade Bloc moved a portion of their navy to the area in a bid to expand their operations. This was highly successful and the pirates were arrested, killed, or driven from the region.

Murgoth Desert

Shrilari

The Shrilari have engaged in violent raids against local towns and merchants along the Gods' Gift River for hundreds of years. The Murgothi Confederacy has been unable to deal with the raiders at their source as they live deep within the Sirocco. The Confederacy quickly learned that the Shrilari are able to fight in the low visibily of the storm. There is a standing bounty for the bodies of these raiders, leading to several mercenary factions stationed in Tor Volare that sign on with merchants to protect them.

Desert Raiders

The Shrilari aren't the only source of banditry in the Murgoth Desert. Droughts and famine are common in the region, leading to desparation. As these shortages sweep through the eastern and southern regions, those affected migrate towards the Gods' Gift attacking the locals in hopes of finding enough food to support their families. While the Confederacy still treats these activities as punishable by death, there are no general standing bounties on these outlaws.
