The Temple of Time

The Temple of Time was once a tall, proud, church-like building. However, in recent years, it has fallen into decay. Many of the citizens of Castle Town stopped believing in Hylia years ago, or think that with the shattering of the Triforce, assume that she has no power or sway over the mortal realm any more, or simply chooses not to deal with them and has abandoned her people. Some still come to worship the other three Goddesses, Farore, Nayru, and Din, but there is also the belief that they have either been rendered powerless or have abandoned Hyrule, as well. Some of the angrier townspeople had even taken to vandalizing the Temple, the worst of which resulted in the partial burning of it, occurring on the same night that the castle was partially destroyed.   Therefore, the Temple is now in a state of ruin. Some of the roof is caved in, most of the stained-glass windows have been shattered, and some charred remains still stand today. Some of the faithful still stay to attempt to return the Temple to its former glory, but without the support of Hylian nobility, not much has been done.

History

The Temple of Time was first built by an ancient sage to seal away the Sacred Realm, and as a resting place for the Master Sword until it could be found by the Hero of Time. But as times changed, so did the purpose of the temple. Eventually, it became a place dedicated to the worship of Hylia, as well as the three goddesses: Farore, Din, and Nayru.
