Goron

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The main language that the Gorons speak is common Hylian, although some groups of Gorons can get ideas across with grunts and body language, including stomping their feet and pounding their fists.

Culture and cultural heritage

No one really knows where the Gorons came from or when they first appeared. They've lived in Hyrule for as long as anyone can remember, and seemed to exist even before Hyrule's recorded history. However, the one constant in the Gorons' history is that they've always lived on or near Death Mountain, digging their mines and bathing in hot springs and lava flows.

Shared customary codes and values

The Gorons work hard and play hard in equal measures, often having contests of strength and using that strength to mine rocks as well as precious gems and minerals. They value dependability, honesty, and loyalty, as well as a good sense of humor.

Common Etiquette rules

Anything really goes around Gorons. They'll let people get away with pretty much anything except lying, cheating, or stealing.

Common Dress code

Among themselves, Gorons could care less if other Gorons wore any sort of clothing or not. However, in public spaces where foreigners will be, or if they're traveling, themselves, they'll at least wear some sort of loin cloth.

Art & Architecture

Sometimes a Goron will get a wild hair and attempt to paint something on cave walls, and elders will sometimes attempt to record history through drawings, but beyond that, Gorons don't have much in the way of art.   They generally live in caves and the deep mines that they've dug out, adding in wooden or steel beams for structural support, or steel ladders, elevators, and walkways to traverse the mines.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The Gorons tend to be a simple people, sometimes not even bothering with clothes or decoration at all. However, some like to paint themselves with a semi-permanent body paint. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the designs they use, just whatever the particular Goron thinks looks good.

Gender Ideals

The Gorons firmly reject any notion of Hylian "gender." If someone is good at something, they do it. If someone wants to wear something, they wear it. They tend to find other races' gender(s) baffling and will often get pronouns confused, but they try their best.

Relationship Ideals

While some Gorons have been known to have "best friend" and even "brotherly" relationships, they generally don't get much more involved than that, mostly since they don't sexually reproduce. While it's very common for a Goron to call another Goron (or even friendly foreigners) "brother," sometimes small, family-like groups will be formed. These small groups are special to the Gorons- they live, work, and play together, sometimes raising younger Gorons as a group.

Earth Adaptation. All Gorons feel at home in rocky environments, gaining advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks in them.

If you travel downhill your base speed increases to 40 (for a total of 80 feet of movement). Rolling downhill also adds 1d12 extra bludgeoning damage to the roll on a hit. This increases to 2d12 at level 5, 3d12 at level 10, and 4d12 at level 15.

Stone Skin. You have advantage on Stealth checks to hide when you are next to natural, unworked stone.
