Lunan language
The official language of the Kingdom of Lunis, spoken by the Lunan, Solmata, and Lycan peoples.
White and Black
There are two words in Lunan for the colors black and white. One is for standard everyday use. The other is used in reference to the moon, and when not directly describing the moon always indicates a lunar connection. It is common for factions to give themselves names using one of those colors, especially if there is a rival group already using the other. The royal family is the only group allowed to use those words as components of personal names.Tinehatsu: The act of burning hair
The dragon Aodh was not officially part of the Lunan royal court, but had effectively forced himself in through his raw power and desire to be with King Fintan. Because of this Aodh couldn't be stopped or punished when he decided to burn the hair of a noble, reducing their long locks to the short hair of a commoner. This happened enough times that eventually the word 'tinehatsu' was coined to specifically refer to the act of burning hair, and the nobility learned not to challenge Fintan's authority when Aodh was in the room. Fintan himself did not approve of Aodh's actions.Lunan Literacy
Literacy in Lunan is mostly seen amongst the upper class of Lunis. Commoners are rarely literate, although literacy has steadily become more common since the reign of King Eamon. Lycan rarely have the chance or the desire to become literate. From the Author
