Ietitian polytheism
Ietitian polytheism is striking in a lot of ways--its dividing each god into two twins, its use of augury with fish in pools, its emphasis on genealogy, and its detailed descriptions of the various afterlives.
Mythology & Lore
Ietitian polytheism can be seen as complicated dualism--every god has their opposite (more accurately, undoing) in the pantheon. There are six pairs that are universally accepted as the highest, as well as a large array of smaller gods,
Cosmological Views
The world is understood to have been infinite--civilizations rose and fell. The world was never created, it always has been.
Tenets of Faith
Depends. Most people devote their lives to a particular god, and follow their edicts.
Ethics
Depends on which god one's worshipping.
Worship
Praying to idols and the many 'proxy statues' found around Gessen. No set time, usually happens whenever one feels obligated to.
Priesthood
Since twins are about twice as likely to be born in Gessen, they're common enough to be exclusively priests. Often they cut their tongues in half, and usually spend their entire lives in the service of one god.
Sects
God-specific cults.
