Pantheon of The Frozen North

The Frozen North is a cold and harsh place. Strong winds blow across the oftentimes flat surface. Blizzards make it nearly impossible to travel at times. The only reprieve are the beautiful auroras visible at night.

Pantheon

There are only a few Gods being worshiped in The Frozen North.
God Aspect Reason
Oghma God of Knowledge He sent Osnaghar on a mission to explore The Frozen North.
Auril Goddess of Winter The Frozen North is believes to be her domain and she is causing it to continue to grow year after year.
Talos God of Storms Some people don't attribute every aspect of winter to Auril. They pray to Talos for good measure, in the hopes he grants them calm weather.
Myrkul God of Death Exploring the frozen wasteland is like tempting death, but some prefer to bribe Myrkul instead.
Helm God of Protection The more religious people also ask for protection from Helm, to cover all their basis.

Religion of necessity

Most of the people in Oghmania are there for a reason, be it exploration, fame or commerce. The more zealous religious people are followers of Oghma, supporting Osnaghar in his mission to find the library.   The people that set out into The Frozen North pray to different Gods to ask for safe travels. Most of them pray out of fear, not out of a will to worship the Gods. The Gods with the most control over The Frozen North are presumed to be evil, so they need to be appeased.   When a guide joins a party in their travels, they will take an offering with them as a sacrifice to Auril. In practice, this offering is rarely actually offered up to Auril, out of fear to attract predators. Most of the time, the "offering" takes the form of feeding the winter wolves or polar bear the travelers accidentally come across, in an effort to get safe passage. As such, Auril is slowly becoming more and more associated with the predators that live in The Frozen North, which only makes Talos' role grow as the master of the weather.   For the people that simply make a living in Oghmania, religion doesn't play a role in their personal lives. All their religious expression is outward, as part of the culture.
