Obelisk of the Ancient

Obelisk of the Ancient is an undiscovered monument to The Magic Collapse, mostly encased in ice within The Frozen North.

Purpose

Created by the people who living through The Magic Collapse, they built the monument to warn those that would come after them. Using the remnants of their magical abilities, they built an impressive obelisk, an astounding 120 foot tall in total. To further impress any onlookers, it is entirely made of a largely white colored granite. It is built on-top of a 20 foot pedestal, 10 foot wide, with stairs leading up to the pedestal on all sides.

Warning

The first 30 foot of the obelisk was filled with carvings of their ancient written language. Each side of the obelisk was numbered, with the south of the obelisk numbered I and then counter-clockwise, they numbered up. So the east would be II, north III and west IIII.   Above the written words were engraved drawings depicting different aspects of the warning. The south side showing blessings from the Gods, while humans murdered each other. The east side showing humans killing each other with powerful magic, while the north side focussing more on destruction of villages. And the west side showing people powerless, surrounded by corpses and the Gods retreated.   If someone would be able to translate the ancient language written on the obelisk, the writings would say:
I
The Gods had blessed us with tremendous wonder
Yet, we were unworthy of their blessing
The evil of men spread like a scourging fire   II
Pride is the birthplace of our great demise
Unfettered ego the fuel for the unending pyre
Unimaginable evil bestowed by desire   III
Endless suffering we caused each other
A repeating cycle of death and destuction
Cruelty surely the cause of our extinction   IIII
But a rightous punishment befell us
An atrocious justice in its own right
Impotent we continued our existence

Condition

The obelisk itself is in remarkably good condition, albeit almost completely covered in ice. The pedestal is taken damage through abrasion of melt-water. This did not damage any of the writings or drawings on the obelisk, just makes it slightly harder to walk around the obelisk.
