Hendrik would be described by his peers as flexible, independent, good-natured, dishonest, disorganized, and distractible. Whether he was fighting titans or researching the fragments, he would actively avoid others, as he was easily distracted and could completely forget what he'd been doing. He worked best alone while out in the field, but was still happy to aid his colleagues when needed, seeing all of them as his friends.

Hendrik was originally given the Consuming Fragment in order to keep it from ever being used again. He did some researching and experimenting with the fragment, as was expected in the Shattered Conclave, but he wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about it as some of his colleagues -- he preferred to use his time fighting titans and protecting others.
