The Spice-Day Turkey

Spice-Day Turkey has quickly become one of the largest parts of this day-long gift-giving holiday. Many people all across southern Huldath of all races and creeds, will come together to partake in this dish, along with many others. While not the original source of the spice-day celebrations the turkey that is consumed has quickly and more prominetly as time goes on, become one of its principle recognizing features.

History

While Spice-Day has always been a gift-giving holiday it has grown, morphed and turned into one of the most major one-day holidays across southern Huldath. One of the earliest additions to the holiday was the admixture of spices to a turkey that families, friends and groups of people would feast on. Heavily spiced, some may say too heavily, and roasted for several hours, the turkey becomes a central dish around which many other foodstuffs are served.   some of the more callous-tongued celebrants of the festival seem to be turning it into a game or test of endurance with overly spiced turkey being consumed in large quantities with who can eat the most spiced meats considered a winner, of sorts.

Execution

Many spices, some flavourful, most extremely hot, are used to coat the turkey, used as a baste and the turkey is typically roasted, for several hours. Many will stuff additional spicy roots, such as horse-radishes, into the turkey.

Participants

Those who eat the turkey can often be seen sweating, crying, laughing, joking and experiencing many many emotions, some folks have even joked that "Spice day" will soon be turned to "emotions day". The true key role is the one in charge of the preparation of the turkey and many strong reputations of being the most succulent, best cooked, hottest, most pleasantly spiced and best table are thrown around as year after year people will attempt to one-up each other.
