The Bearing of Seed

History

The Summer's Refuge, home to the Amber Conclave and "The Birth Tree" has traditionally charged its oldest, wisest and most trusted druids to take on the foundational task of creating new enclaves. Typically a small group of druids, younger and less established ones, will leave Summers Refuge with the seed bearer to a new location where either nature is failing and requires bolstering, where previous conclaves have failed or fallen or where they feel called.
The seed bearer will carry with them, within a box crafted from the wood of the first tree, a seed from that same magical tree. These seeds are highly magical and equally lethal to those who touch them. When a Sentient Being holds one of these seeds in their hand it becomes one with them; thusly a need seed bearer is created. Over the course of days, weeks, or sometimes even months, the seed of the first tree will take hold in its host body. Eventually, the seed bearer will succumb to the tree's influence, where they die the seed will take root and the foundation for the druidic conclave is formed. 
While often seen as a grisly ritual by outsiders, to members of the Amber Conclave, becoming one with the first tree, the earth, and returning to nature are all seen as highly respectable ends to one's life and bring meaning to their death. Seed bearers are never forced and must volunteer, accidents are said to have happened in the past however it is unclear how, or even if, these were resolved as there are no records of unwilling seed bearers in wide circulation, only rumors and tavern tales.

Execution

During the ceremony, an Acord along with a small cutting of branches is taken from the First Tree and kept inside a small box made of wood of the first tree. A ritual carried out by the refuge keepers is carried out, imbuing the Acorn with its power to form the new magical basis for an enclave. The exact ritual for imbuement of this power is kept as a closely guarded secret, it is however the result of the Refuge Keepers channeling deep natural magic into the Acorn.
When the Seed Bearer feels they have reached an appropriate location for the founding of the new conclave, there is little ceremony or circumstance that is followed. The Seed bearer simply opens the box and takes the seed in hand. This act consecrates the two beings into one, from then either days, weeks or months later the Acorn will end the life of its host and the growth of the tree will bein.
