Hollow Society

The One Church hate for black magic makes it so that many are born without future. Either to be executed or live in imprisonment and slavery. In various terms those with dark mana are prosecuted and exploited for who they are. Therefore, it would not be of no surprise that there is one organization that is solely dedicated for the cause of those with black mana . The Hollow Society is an enigmatic organization of only dark mages and people born with black mana. It also includes those who are sympathetic to the cause. Unlike many organizations it does not have a set of symbols. Instead members display their status through contradictions in society, those in the know, know how to find them.
Hollow Society is politically neutral faction, and they take contracts from mage organizations, commoners and nobility. If you seek the know into black magic with no strings attached, they are the only way. They are present everywhere in the realm and also beyond the realm. The dark magic is one of the most efficient forms for communication and travel, which makes running a secretive organization much easier. Due to the usefulness of black magic, some counties also provide more open fronts for the Hollow Society to use. Such as Crowald where having black mana won't get you prosecuted. But in some other regions, this may not be the case.
There are no strict rules in the Hollow Society, and this includes that its members may partake in illegal activities. The only times when the organization takes action against its own members is, if they hurt someone of their own or deny the free will of an unaffiliated black mana user. Beyond that, the Hollow Society is often seen at scene of espionage and assassinations. They have tight connections with the other guilds and organizations that operate in the underworld, and their hostile standing with the church grants them unexpected respect and support from those living in the shadows of the society.

Structure

The hierarchy of the Hollow Society is unknown. Though some of its members are known in the nobility, nothing is known about the structure of the organization. They have some presence everywhere and at the same time no one knows who runs the organization. Because of the lack of information, even some of the members of the organization believe it is only a fairy tale to bring hope and confuse their enemies. It is very common that dark mages who belong in an a magic organization and get caught alive by the inquisitors simply state that they belong to the Hollow Society.
The One Church is so tired of trying to track down the Hollow Society that people who state they belong to the organization are simply summarily executed and their affiliation is left as blank. As far as the The One Church is concerned, the Hollow Society does not exist.
