Journey Temple

"You have now become an adult in the eyes of your peers and the First. Now go, do what your heart desires and come closer to the First in your journey."
— First Priest in Maturity Ceremony
There comes a point in every young Victracki's life when they must decide where their journey will take them. This moment of burgeoning adulthood starts at the Journey Temple, a place of great importance in Victracki society. A Victracki is not truly considered an adult until they go through the ceremony that takes place in this structure, coming out at the end of it as a full member of their civilization.

Purpose / Function

The Journey Temple is meant as a transitory point in a Victracki's life, as it is where the Desire Ceremony takes place. Beyond this specific ceremony, the building is used as a site of worship of the First. Priests, while not living here, will often times be found inside ready to give guidance for those on their journey closer to the First.

Architecture

The temple is a large dome of canvas stretched over a wooden or metal structure. There is only one main room, inside of which is a large fountain. This fountain has three concentric, circular tiers and a small statue of a First at its top. This is where the main ceremony takes place and is always kept running in a clean state.

History

The Journey Temple is a relatively more recent addition to Victracki society, the first having been built only a few years before the instatement of the current Empty Eye. The first was established to help newly adult Victracki have a centralized location in their home city to get guidance along their journey, as well as, have a more official ceremony to help them find their desires.
