Hopeful Shattering Universe

Hopeful Shattering is a world where dark things happen, but they pave the way for new and hopefully better growth.   (As I write the elements of this world and its stories in an iterative/discovery sort of way, there are bound to be contradictions and similar artifacts of that process. Forgive me.)   The name comes, in part, from the Shattering events that happen through the Milky Way galaxy, which are how the Magic Crystals get into this world.   (The original name, Gemtech Universe, cane from the idea of fusing magic crystals and technology. The name changed because too many things already used the name.)   .....genres are funny things, aren't they? Is this science fiction? Space fantasy? Science fantasy? Yes. Yes it is. :D   But a short description is this: The technology is magical, the magic is technological, and even geology got in on it.   (Anything in this universe, aside from this world description, is typically communicated in the voice of The Observer. The linked article also discusses the times when they give way to other storytellers.)
