Outlander

Outlanders were born from the nightmares of Mind Flayers, believe it or not.
An aberrant creature, designed by the nightmares of an ancient race to be the ultimate monster hunter.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A humanoid body-plan, with hard boney plates around the neck, and on the shoulders, lower arms, and legs, as well as hands and feet. The eyes have black sclera that extends below the nostrils that appear to be shaped like tribal tattoo designs. The eyes are also the key feature in identifying an Outlander, as opposed to the face as a whole. They possess gill-like organs on the sides of their ribs, which allows them to convert magical energies into oxygen for them to breathe, meaning they don't need an atmosphere to breathe, they just can't breathe water.

Genetics and Reproduction

Outlanders reproduce in the same way a human does.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They possess exceptional eyesight, hearing, and olfactory capabilities. They possess the ability to echolocate, teleport, and even cast spells using psionics.

Ability Score Increase +3 int, +2 cha, -2 dex
Size Medium
Speed 30ft

Aberrant step: Once per short rest, you can roll 1d8 and add your constitution modifier to that roll. During combat, you can teleport said number of times per encounter. You can also expend two uses of an ability to get you and an ally the hell out of dodge.
Alignment: Outlanders, despite being an aberrant race, uphold a knights code and are typically bound to honor. Thus they tend towards a Lawful Good alignment.
Psionic mind: You can actively cast Mage Hand, Slow Fall, Jump, and Hold Person without expending spell slots.
█████ █████████: when a mind flayer tadpole enters your brain through your eyelids you don't undergo the effects of Seramorphosis, instead, you gain the ability to enter a wild magic surge. Be warned though the tadpole will still devour your brain if it's not removed.
