Kayne the Blackguard

Kayne's history is shrouded. Many people claim to have known him in his youth, but few documentations remain to corroborate their memories. That is how he likes it. That is how he wants it.
Kayne is the leader of The Underground, the black market heart of the remains of Rok'Na Ooda, the fallen capitol of the Oodast Empire. His fingers are in the pocket of every politician, guild hall, and guard captain. His word is law and anyone that does business in Rok'Na Ooda knows better than to snub him. He does not ask for payment from the businesses that work in the city, but his agents are well known. When they arrive in the establishment, it is best to serve them quickly, give them what Kayne wants, and get them out of the shop as quickly as possible. Rarely does he interfere with their business, appreciating the hard work they do in keeping Rok'Na Ooda from crumbling into ruin.
It is difficult to say what Kayne's motivations are. While greed plays a key role in his decisions, not all of his endeavours have a monetary benefit. His generosity is wide-reaching, but anyone that thinks there are no strings attached quickly find out that Kayne expects something in return. Those that attempt to renege on this assumption rarely live to make the mistake twice. While dangerous, he isn't prone to violent outbursts, relying more on presence and knowledge to remind the populace who is really in charge of the city. People speak openly about the dark woman that accompanies him, but it is clear that they work independently as well as together. 
Anyone looking for work with Kayne should be prepared to offer something in return for his assistance. He might not ask for the payment right away, but he will collect eventually. Rarely are these payments pleasant or legal.
