The Day of the Rising Sun is first manuscript of the The True Historical Documents of Hesli which contains the true written history of Hesli. It describes the creation of the world and how the dragons tended to it. The contents have been encrypted using the Nannan Sauriv cipher.
The True Historical Documents of Hesli
This collection contains the true history written by several authors that the dwarves, elves, and gnome hid away for no one to find. There are multiple documents part of this collection:
The world used to be dark and grim. One big mass of land surrounded by water as far as the eye can see. The land, mostly flat, had no ways to grow, since the plants required water.
Then, one day, light shone over the world. The fire of dragons who try to navigate their way through the skies. They saw the land and never looked behind.
At first, they used their own fire to give light to the world. Then, a few of them soared back into the sky and became what is known today as the sun. They offered themselves to give the rest of the world light. For that, everybody is eternally grateful and shall honour their sacrifice.
With the sun now high in the sky, the rest of the dragons began to reform the world. The red dragons shaped the land, creating the mountains, hills and islands. Using their powerfull breath, they managed to create molten lava in the core of the world resulting in the first volcanos.
The silver dragons worked the waters, creating oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. Together with the reds they distributed the water over the lands as well. Finally, they created The Silver Lining, a frozen region on the edge of the world that would become their home.
The blue dragons soared the skies creating the weather to help keep balance to the world. The flaps of their powerful wings moved the clouds across the continents. They used their breath weapon to initiate the first of many thunderstorms and hurricanes. The blue dragons were the true masters of the sky.
The gold dragons brought life to the world. They spread plants to the plains, created forests and filled the ocean with plantlife. Furthermore, they filled the sea with fish, the land with animals and created the first sapient species.
This once flat and dark land became the new world for the dragons. They nurtured it the best they could; gave the plants water, balanced out the animals with hunters and prey and learned the sapient species to use tools. While not all was perfect, it was a functioning world.
It was our world.
