Casa Di Rosa

In the void between the logic and the creative part of my brain, resides a little village in my subconsciousness. Casa Di Rosa is a little village I go to whenever I feel in a pickle and need a place to escape. It is the place where I make decisions, come up with new ideas, or just chill and hang out with some of the virtual friends I have created over time.

So, what can I do in Casa Di Rosa? Well, just about anything I would like. Let's take a stroll around town, shall we?

Peter's Bar, Home to Lenny's Home-cooking

Like any good village that is not bound by any rules, whether that be physical or political, the most popular place to hang out is Peter's Bar. It is the place to be for listening to amazing music while enjoying a glass of good old whiskey. Lenny, the cook, will make you any dish you would like with the highest quality ingredients there are. Both are always up for a drink and give some unsolicited advice, but it always comes from the right place and have helped me out a ton over the years.

Grandparents House

However, for true advice, it is always best to visit my best friends: grandma and grandpa. Need a sparring partner to solve something strategically or logically? Grandpa is the man to beat. But when it comes to cooking and baking, no one gives better advice than grandma. Advice is not the only thing to gain from these two inspirational people. Just having that nice cup of tea while munching away on two cookies is the ideal break after a long day of brain crunching work.

Tribunal of Decisions

Many times in life, we need to make decisions. Sometimes on light topics, but sometimes on heavy subjects. Whenever I face a decision, I go to the tribunal of decisions where I can talk with a couple more friends who tend to hang out here. I gather multiple perspectives on the subject, spar with these fictional people, weigh off pros and cons, and come to a conclusion. They all represent certain parts and viewpoints. We argue, discuss, have fun, but always come to a decision in the end. Having such internal sparring partners are an integral part of the inner workings of my brain.

Pool of Inspiration

I used to be an avid swimmer and I still like to take a dive in the pool every now and then. The fresh water splashing against the skin, it revitalises me to the core. During those swimming sessions, my creative senses were at their peak and the stories rolled in with every stroke. While I do not have a pool available to me these days, I like to think back to those days and let my creative engine run. Nothing intensely as working out an article, or working out ideas for worldbuilding, or software project come from these swimming sessions. Little ideas sprout from these waters to be noted down and looked at later when I'm in full creative mode.

Visiting Home

Casa Di Rosa is almost literally on the edge of two parts of my brain. On one side is the logic part and the other side the creative part. They tend to argue at times and cause all sorts of chaos in my head. However, being in the middle of these parts, this little village provides the perfect escape. I can make a swift transition from logic to creative and back by passing through this village. I can take a moment to stop and reflect, do something else and find some comfort in all the chaos.
