Herat Jen'Khalid

Herat Jen'Khalid was once a High Priest of Kalus Morel from the city of Gilded Dust in the Veshk Sultunate.   A strong and strapping middle aged man. Considered handsome by many, he is the 12th son of ancient wizard that rules that city in the name of the Sultan. He grew up in lavish luxury and he is a highly trained warrior and Wizard who only took to the cloth because his father wished to have a deeper say over the Temple of Kalus Morel in the city, a powerful political force. Over the course of his career he became a cleric and eventually the high priest of the temple in that city, it was through this and with his fathers help that he discovered the potential for his current state due to the personal connection that Kalus Morel has with their clerics.   With the help of his brothers, sisters and Father he was able to enact a brutal ritual that coopted that conduit and made him the sole controller of it. The ritual was originally supposed to share that power between himself and his father as well as his siblings but he had betrayed them and took it all for himself, using that power to hold the rest at bay he fled the desert and travelled to Solags Folly.   High Priests of Kalus Morel were struck down in an instant as he wrenched power from them and the Clerics of the Gods found themselves suddenly bereft of power. This has been slowly causing a measure of barely contained chaos in the church among the human nations.   Herat is currently in an abandoned Yuan-Ti temple complex on an Island in Solags Folly. It is in here that he is slowly siphoning the power of the gods into a body that he is growing in an enormous vat with the goal of transferring his consciousness over into the body soon. He is doing this because his body is unable to withstand the divine power he is stealing and is slowly causing his flesh to wither away.
