The Sarrukh

An ancient group of experimental druids from the Ilhuii Crithasar that were cast out for their experiments that defied the laws of nature and were deemed as unethical. Although they left the Ilhuii Crithasar, they didn't leave the Mestihe Jungle and continued to carry out their experiments.

Summary

The Sarrukh magically experimented with the breeding between humans and snakes, all through the deity Sseth. These experiments eventually came to produce the Yuan-Ti. Over time, through the same method of magical experimentation, they created the Naga and Lizardmen. Although the Naga and Lizardmen scattered to different parts of the world, the Yuan-Ti stayed in the Mestihe Jungle with the Sarrukh, worshipping the reptilian god Sseth.

Historical Basis

Based on historical events, however, due to the hidden city that the Sarrukh and the Yuan-Ti live in, they are seen as a myth and folk lore, just a story to scare children.

Spread

Most of those within the Mestihe Jungle see this as a bedtime story. In the version spread throughout Mestihe, it is said that a group of people betrayed the Ilhuii Crithasar and were cursed by the gods. Their skin and blood changed as they morphed into snakes as punishment, their venom cursing their bodies causing them to die. A story that is spun in different ways to keep children from rebelling from the ways of the Ilhuii Crithasar.
