Opatra
Endless desert stretching from coast to coast and separated by the life-giving waters of the Hazilat 'Sandbreaker' river. Opartra is an ancient land with a rich history. The peoples of Opartra are hardy folk given the harsh reality of living in desert conditions. With Sophoros, it's capital, on the southern coast and the highly prized Nezzah in the north, often called the 'Jewel of the Desert', the region has gone through many centuries of hardships. To the south stands Gawharaa large island with the small city of Ofedinah. This city has long been the home of an exclusive Magi school called The Heka Acadamy.
Geography
Seeming endless stretches of desert with small villages sporadically dotted throughout the landscape. Those villages and communities often moving from water source to water source using knowledge passed down through generations. Life thrives, however, closer to the Hazilat 'Sandbreaker' river where the two largest cities in the region were formed. To the far north, a small mountain range, 'Skybreaker', separates Opartra from Helstav and is rumored to harbor long thought dead civilizations.
Fauna & Flora
Hardened survivors including large arachnids in the form of desert scorpions and spiders roam the deserts searching over vast distances for food. Canids, like wolves and jackals, prowl the landscape looking for scavenging opportunities and any wayward traveler having taken a wrong turn. There are also ancient stories of huge sandworms in the deep interior.
Natural Resources
Lacking in the standard natural resources the Opartran peoples have had to turn themselves into expert traders. With the easy access provided by the vast river running through the continent. There is also a highly lucrative archeology trade system in place and countless numbers of new Archeologists have tried and failed to make their fortunes and names on the backs of the endless spawling ruins and temples buried in the sands.
