Mare

The Mare family are a rich family with a long history of ruling the Blessed Isles. The Isles are famed for their riches as whoever controls the Isles, controls the mining and selling of Morriganium, a supposedly magical metal that legend says is the body of a dead god. The Mare family have used their control of the metal to provide themselves with a wealthy income and a life of luxury. Due to their wealth, Mare controls the largest fleet of ships in the region both warships and trading vessels. The current ruling member of House Mare is Aurelia Mare, ruling after the death of her husband was something frowned upon in Marblite culture where males are given leadership, but due to her wealth and her political power, the other Imperators let it slide.
Ruling from Namensa, a city built into the huge cliffs of one of the larger islands, due to this it is surrounded on all sides but the coastline by the wavy blue marble that makes up the ground, walls and ceiling of the carved out city. The city is notorious for its luxuries and is a popular destination for rich Marblites wishing to partake in various escapes (some deemed illegal elsewhere) such as; lavish parties, secret orgies, open drug use and, if rumours are true, legal human hunts. Marblites pay a great deal for this privilege while other islands are open to those not able to pay the high price to stay in Namensa.

Geography

A collection of islands off the main coast. The Blessed Isles are beautiful, as if carved out of the Ocean itself, the blue marble that has accents of white causing wave like patterns makes the islands a sight to behold. That is before you reach the blue sand beaches where small towns have set up, generating income by acting as a holiday resort for those who can afford it.
The Islands that aren't tropical paradises are beautifully carved mounds of blue marble when sailing past, but many are now deep mining operations that would be considered an eye sore to the many visitors to the islands. If one takes an aerial view of the islands and the way they have arrayed, one would notice that the islands look more like broken pieces of something else than simply natural islands formed like others found around the continent.

Natural Resources

Morriganium, a purple hued metal that supposedly grants great prowess in battle, allowing the user to enter a battle trance where their instincts become attuned to battle and their ferocity knows no bounds. Noble families have gone to battle over weapons and armour made of Morriganium.
